The Holocene climate of southeastern Australia is typically characterised by wetter than present-day conditions during the early- to mid-Holocene, before a shift to increased climatic variability and an overall trend to aridity in the late-Holocene 6 – 8 .

The level of genomic diversity did not differ significantly between the subspecies demonstrating an overall trend of slightly lower genetic diversity in Cx. p. molestus; however, this was not significant in pairwise comparisons except for the cultivated colonies from Chicago, IL (Fig. 7 ), which demonstrated a strong depletion of genetic diversity in Cx. p. molestus .

To get more insight into the nature of genomic differentiation between subspecies/populations, we calculated genome-wide pairwise Fst values and found that they varied between 0.08 and 0.25 and were highly significant for all comparisons (Fig. 5 ).

Currently, shale gas extraction occurs on ~2,700,000 ha in Northeastern BC, with a total gas production of ~59 billion m 3 in 2018 (with an increasing trend from ~32 billion m 3 in 2007; http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/natural-gas-oil/statistics ).

From June to August, the methane absorption flux in the upper active layer exhibited a decreasing trend, which indicates that the increase in wetland methane emissions exceeded the increase in methane absorption by the soil, leading to changes in the carbon source–carbon sink dynamic geochemical balance in wetland soil.

The thermal expansion of the interlayer space in phyllosilicates with empty or partially filled interlayer spaces is usually quite significant.

Manga and Bordsky 26 reported that both static stress change and dynamic stress may be significant in the near field and intermediate field (i.e., within up to a few fault lengths), but only dynamic stress is larger than tidal stress in the far field (i.e., many fault lengths away).

Meanwhile, the effect of HA showed an increasing trend on the fresh tuber yield with increasing the water deficit demonstrating that crop plant growth was significantly affected by the water condition 25 , 26 .

Nevertheless, these photosynthesis parameters are sensitive to unfavorable environmental conditions such as drought, salinity and heat 19 – 21 , and plant photosynthesis activity shows a decreasing trend with the increasing water stress 22 .

In this study, we observed an increasing trend in the levels of individual components of MetS across the SUA quartiles.
