Although a statistical difference between age classes was not demonstrated, a numerical trend was observed: the proportion of stage IV cases increased with age (from 11.5% in Class 1 to 32.8% in Class 3).

Interestingly, despite the small treated cohort, a numerical trend toward a higher digoxin serum concentration and stronger reduction in the average cluster size at day 7 was observed (secondary endpoint) (linear regression coefficient −4.65, P = 0.14; Fig. 1g ), suggesting that higher digoxin serum levels or more potent Na + /K + ATPase inhibitors could be more effective in cluster dissolution.

In our cohort, the combination of radiotherapy or chemotherapy with surgery demonstrated a numerical trend toward improved OS, LR, and DM, except at 36 months, compared to surgery alone.

Nonetheless, a numerical trend was observed where chlorophyll content increased and then decreased with increasing plant spacing (from 15 to 35 cm), reaching its peak value (44.52) at 25 cm.

In other words, these simulations would have showed at the interim data cut that it is unlikely that the final OS dataset would show a numerical trend in the hazard ratio favoring the combination therapy over the chemotherapy alone.

While they did not observe a statistically significant reduction in OS by Kaplan-Meier analysis, there was a numerical trend towards reduced survival in patients whose tumours demonstrated ZNF331 methylation.

However, direct comparisons of effect sizes revealed a numerical trend indicating higher vulnerability in females and non-elderly subjects, but these differences were not statistically significant between sexes or age groups.

In summary, while there was no evidence of a labeling effect across all six blocks, a numerical trend of Label toward the end suggests that semantic labeling might have shown an influence on performance as participants become more familiar with the task ( Figures 6A , 6B ).

While more patients experienced dostarlimab-related AEs (71%) than pembrolizumab-related AEs (57%), a numerical trend favoring dostarlimab was observed in the proportion of patients experiencing immune-related adverse events (irAEs) (31% for dostarlimab plus chemotherapy and 39% for pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy), serious adverse events (SAEs) (41% and 48%, respectively), AEs leading to treatment discontinuation (29% and 38%, respectively), and AEs leading to immunotherapy discontinuation (17% and 24%, respectively) (Table 5 ).

While no statistically significant association was observed between starting dose and objective response rate (ORR) or clinical benefit rate (CBR), a numerical trend suggested that patients with shorter duration of response tended to have received lower initial doses [ 27 ].

Nevertheless, although no statistically significant differences in kidney or pancreas rejection rates were observed between thymoglobulin and basiliximab, our data showed a numerical trend toward higher rejection in the basiliximab group, as previously reported in other studies [ 17 , 18 ].

Although our pooled point estimate suggests a numerical trend towards greater PFS benefit in the recurrent disease subgroup (HR, 0.63) compared to the newly diagnosed subgroup (HR, 0.87), the test for interaction was not statistically significant ( p -interaction = 0.3795).

Moreover, a numerical trend of better PFS outcomes among bone-only progressors compared to others, in our cohort, underlines the potential benefit of timely diagnosis (avoiding the potential risks and comorbidities associated with a late diagnosis) and early treatment intervention.

In women, ever smokers and smoking amount showed a numerical trend towards lower risk of death and hospitalisation, but were only significantly associated with respiratory hospitalisation (Additional file 1: Table S2 and Table S3 ).
