With a global average of 52.7% ± 0.12% history-congruent trials, we found a small but highly significant perceptual bias towards preceding experiences ( β = 16.18 ± 1.07, T(1.09×10 3 ) = 15.07, p = 10 −46 ; Fig 2A ) that was largely consistent across studies ( S1B Fig ) and more pronounced in participants who were less sensitive to external sensory information ( S1C Fig ).
