The meta-regression of the year over logit-transformed prevalence showed a trend towards an increasing prevalence of beta-blocker use from 1995 to 2015 with a slope of 0.1 (p<0.0001).

The LF:HF ratio showed a trend toward increase in bright light compared with dim light (Interaction, p < 0.0001; Light, p = 0.056), with a significant difference in the fifth hour after lights-on ( p = 0.017) ( Fig. 3H ).

This pattern was also true of the linear trend where this level of association was particularly apparent in relation to the high intensity angry expressions, such that the mean number of FRAXE repeats showed a trend - the more FRAXE repeats, the more likely was the boy to recognise extreme anger (P<0.0001).

The A/California strain showed a trend characterized by two different peaks: the first in 2010/2011 (49.0%, 95% CI 39.0–59.0; p < 0.0001 vs. 2009/2010 for HI results) and the second one in 2014/2015 (53.0%, 95% CI 43.0–62.0; p = 0.004 vs. 2013/2014 for HI results).

Both backbone and IL7 coding virus-treated groups showed a trend for the reduction of tumor volumes, however IL7 coding virus-treated animals had notably smaller tumors than mock and Ad5/3-E2F-d24-treated animals ( p < .0001 and p = .0463, respectively) ( Figure 1h ).

In order to define an appropriate drug concentration, tetracycline response experiments were conducted, whereupon embryos infected with 1500 CFU SH1000 EryR (GMSA015) were immersed in sterile E3 medium containing a range of antibiotic doses for the duration of the experiment ( Figure S3A ).While 50 μg/ml tetracycline produced a highly significant, curative response ( p = 0.0003), 10 μg/ml tetracycline showed a trend towards curing ( p = 0.0753) and 5 μg/ml was entirely sub-curative ( p = 0.2181).

The F2/F3 amplitude ratio showed a trend having a maximum at an intermediate distance along the recording transect (χ2 = 12.7, df = 1, p = 0.0004; F2/F3 dB = 5.05+0.03493*dist-0.00004*dist2).

Length of ICU stay: Unlike the results on length of hospitalization, our meta-analysis showed a trend of longer ICU stays among patients who received IV opioids as opposed to those who received TEA (SMD: 0.73; 95%CI: 0.33-1.13; p = 0.0004) (Figure 4 ).
