Only differences with P-value ≤ 0.05 were considered statistically significant and a P-value ≤ 0.01 was considered highly significant.

Interestingly, the abundance of both total T cells (CD45 + CD3 + , Figure 4E ) and CD8 + T cells (CD45 + CD3 + CD8 + , Figure 4F ) did not show a clear trend, with similar observations made in the CD1C + subset, too ( Figure 4G ).

Consistently, immunostaining with anti-E-cadherin or ZO-1 antibodies revealed that tegoprazan markedly increased the adhesion and tight junction protein production in the Caco-2 monolayer; conversely, rabeprazole displayed a decreasing trend in these proteins ( Figure 3F ).

We further observed that the Vγ2 x PD-L1-induced Vγ2Vδ2 T cells’ cytotoxicity (killing EC 50 ) towards tumor cells was correlated significantly with these tumor cells’ PD-L1 expression scores, while the release IFNγ EC 50 showed a negative trend with the PD-L1 expression scores ( Figure 6C ).

Some studies have shown that in NSCLC, smokers have a favorable trend for ICIs compared with non-smokers ( 53 – 55 ), which is consistent with our results.
