Those treated with ZA had a 23% reduction in the risk of disease recurrence (absolute reduction of 3.4%; hazard ratio (HR) 0.77 (95% CI 0.60–0.99), p = 0.042) and a strong trend towards improved survival (HR 0.66 (95% CI 0.43–1.02), p = 0.064).

Though the differences were not significant in the small sample size of four myopathy-tissue- and five healthy-tissue-derived skin fibroblasts, the CpT at position 15803 in the CYTB gene showed a borderline significant increase in methylation in myopathy-tissue-derived skin fibroblasts ( p = 0.064; Figure 4 A).

Healthy controls showed a greater alpha diversity based on observed OTUs (* p = 0.05) and marginally significant Chao1 indices ( p = 0.066) ( Figure 2 ).
