Overall, we found nominally significant associations ( P -value < 0.05) with exons common to the intermediate and short transcripts (Table 2 ).
In summary, sex was nominally significant ( p -value < 0.05) for most bins and scores, except for the anxiety-depression scores of the 13 and 14-year age group ( p -values = 0.78 and 0.91).
For miRNAs recently found to predict Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and its conversion to AD [ 4 ], we also considered nominally significant P-values, i.e. without multiple testing adjustment (P value ≤ 0.05).
As this was an investigative study, nominally significant statistics ( p value < 0.05) were reported.
We replicated also the strong influence of embryonic development, kidney transmembrane transporter activity, and kidney and urogenital system morphology in the genesis of CKD from our previous findings 7 : enrichment of all 148 previously identified gene sets was nominally significant (p-value < 0.05).
Because we expected the signal in bulk tissue to be muted due to cellular heterogeneity, we also evaluated leading edge genes that showed nominally significant DE between younger and older tissue (unadj. p<0.05) ( Figure 5—source data 1A ).
Only one of these SNPs showed a nominally significant association ( P < .05) in our data (rs909253, proxy for rs1041981, r 2 = 0.93; OR = 1.12; P = .005).
Three sites (hand, head, shoulder) showed nominally significant associations ( p < 0.05) between baseline PA patterns and subsequent pain outcomes (Supplementary Tables 17 – 23 ).
The remaining nominally significant associations (P <0.05) were considered as having weak evidence .
When the Saline Solution group was compared with the remaining groups, the mean difference was 0.96667 versus SP Gel ( p = 0.474) and 3.17333 versus SP Macerate (standard error = 1.39615; p = 0.031), with the latter representing the only nominally significant difference ( p < 0.05).
However, there are over 200 nominally significant between-breed genetic correlations but less than 50 phenotypic correlations compared with an expected error of 20 at p < 0.05.
If such interaction was nominally significant ( P < 0.05), the analysis was conducted separately in cases and control subjects (eg, after stratifying by asthma).
After adding the reduced Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (rMEQ) total score and the ISI to separate regression models, we found that the patterns of association were similar, with many of the previously significant associations remaining nominally significant ( p < 0.05), albeit attenuated in magnitude.
Furthermore, to evaluate the overall robustness of the MWAS results we performed enrichment testing, where the suggestively significant (p<1x10 -6 ) MWAS results from the primary analyses were tested for overlap with nominally significant (p<0.05) findings from the replication data.
Of the 21 loci, 13 were nominally significant (p<0.05) in UKBB, including one variant (rs4388642 in CFH, p=1.82×10 -17 ) reaching Bonferroni-corrected significance (Supplementary file Table S3).
The rs1046322 and rs9457 polymorphisms showed nominally significant ( p < 0.05) association in all three (type 1, type 2 and combined) analyses, which remained significant in all cases after FDR correction for multiple testing.
PWS had nominally significant higher serum levels of seven markers (p < 0.05), and after Bonferroni correction for multiple comparisons, three markers remained significant (p < 0.002).
study 7 , 147 pQTLs (52.88%) were nominally significant ( P < 0.05) and accessible for comparisons.
To ensure replication, it was furthermore a criterion that each metabolite was nominally significant ( P < 0.05) in both cohorts.
We then performed two additional WGScan-based burden tests for this chr11:64,859,972–64,869,939 region: variants with nominally significant Fisher’s exact p values ( p <0.05) only and variants in the window that were not nominally significant.
Seven genera showed nominally significant IVW associations with endometriosis ( P <0.05): Lactococcus , Olsenella , Senegalimassilia , Ruminococcaceae UCG-002, Holdemania , Eubacterium ruminantium group and Anaerotruncus .
The IVW method is applicable when horizontal pleiotropy does not exist ( 28 ); If the results of the MR analysis are nominally significant ( P < 0.05), we consider a possible causal relationship between the exposure and the outcome ( 29 ).
Additional post hoc analyses show that these SNVs remain suggestively significant ( p < 5 × 10 −5 ) when not covarying for APOE and the HRs remain in the same direction and nominally significant ( p < 0.05) when using models that include APOE ε2 and ε4 separately in dominant and additive models (Table S4 in supporting information). 3.2.2 APOE analyses Next, in Cox proportional hazard (PH) models, carriers of ε2/ε4, ε3/ε4, ε4/ε4 had an elevated HR (Cox PH HR > 1) for earlier conversion to amyloid positivity compared to ε3/ε3 homozygotes. ε2/ε3 carriers demonstrated a lower risk ratio (Cox PH HR < 1; Table 3 ).
Out of these, 12 demonstrated nominally significant associations with the EC 50 of DOX ( p < 0.05; Table 2 ).
