A meta-analysis of 20 studies involving 14,599 patients established that intracranial arterial calcification (ICAC) detected on routine imaging is independently associated with significantly increased ischaemic stroke risk and showed a trend towards increased mortality. 5 This finding suggests that ICAC may serve as an accessible imaging biomarker for stroke risk stratification.

The protein concentration dependencies on the light-induced difference spectra of p SRII and p SRII- p HtrII(1-159) were analyzed ( Figure ). The amplitude of the spectral change of p SRII increased with increasing protein concentration ( Figure a,c), which is reasonable because the surface density of p SRII increases, as seen in the absorption spectra ( Figure a). That is, the amplitudes of the amide I bands between 1642 and 1663 cm –1 ( Figure c) showed a trend similar to those of the amide I bands at 1655 cm –1 in the absorption spectra ( Figure c).
