Finally, an analysis of tumours with germline pathogenic variants in six high to moderate breast cancer susceptibility genes did not reveal any significant differences between our cohort and TCGA 26 , except for a marginally significant higher prevalence in germline PALB2 mutations (Supplementary Table 4 ).

Specific interactions recapture known long-range interactions While few, we find that specific interactions contain highly significant information.

The principal component analysis applied to the 21504 parameter sets generated in the approach showed a clear trend of how the Prior distributions were gradually updated to distinct Posterior distributions, despite the first two components explaining less than 2% of the total data variance (Fig. 2d ).
The majority of the samples showed a trend towards greater than additive killing by the combination (x axis < 1), compared to the single drugs (Fig. 1b ).
WNT2B-treated pellets also showed a trend toward the increasing expression of neurogenic markers ( PAX6 and SOX2 ), although not statistically significant.
Comparing the phase-locked conditions, we found that the reduction in tremor amplitude was close to significance (not corrected) only at a phase-lag of 0° (Fig. 4a ) but the number of participants who showed a significant reduction in tremor amplitude was not significant (Fig. 4b ).
The amplitude starts to increase after t = 7.64 s (with an unidentified small T e drop event), and it shows an increasing trend before the disruption at t = 7.673 s and remains significant for the stochastic period.
We observed highly significant reductions (67%, n = 2 biological replicates) in chromatin accessibility at the super-enhancers compared with less (23%) reduction at the typical enhancers (Fig. 3a , Supplementary Data 7 ).
Functional annotation by DAVID uncovered a highly significant enrichment of RUNX1/RUNX1T1 binding at gene loci that are subject to alternative splicing and splice variants (false discovery rate adjusted p -value or q -value, 4.0 × 10 −23 and 1.5 × 10 −12 , respectively; Supplementary Fig. 1a , Supplementary Data 2 ) 24 .
We therefore hypothesized albumin adsorption would have the greatest effect on the rate of Phos PS uptake by MΦ, since the highly significant reductions in Phos PS negative charge (Fig. 3d ) should decrease electrostatic repulsion with the negatively charged cell surface.

While albumin adsorption did modulate the MΦ uptake of neutral OH PS and MeO PS, a clear trend for electrostatic changes in mediating these effects was not established.
The highly significant association ( p -SKAT = 1e–24, p -burden = 1e–29) supported the use of UK Biobank data, and we subsequently investigated the aggregate effect of rare variants in the UK Biobank on 791 binary disease outcomes (Methods).
extremely significantqualified
A p value <0.05 was considered significant, and Prism’s recommended classification for significance was followed ( p < 0.0001 = extremely significant (****), 0.0001 < p < 0.001 = extremely significant (***), 0.001 < p < 0.01 = very significant (**), and 0.01 < p < 0.05 = significant (*)).
For instance, a recent multicountry study observed a reduced net effect of future low and high temperatures in northern Europe, East Asia, and Australia, but an increasing trend in regions with hotter climates, such as South America, Southern Europe, and Southeast Asia 13 .
Severely ill subjects exhibited even more marked transcriptional heterogeneity, but showed a trend towards greater IL12 and IFN-response activation along with neutrophil activation, degranulation, and translation initiation, but muted IL1 and IL6 signaling (Fig. 3C, D ).
The effect sizes in the general population may be somewhat exaggerated as the BCAC dataset used here contributed to the discovery of most of the loci, although this effect is likely to be small as most loci are highly significant and the effects have been replicated in independent datasets 7 .
Strikingly, serum IL-1β levels were significantly increased in mice exposed to fructose, and an increasing trend of IL-6 and TNF was observed (Fig. 7I ).
This unsupervised analysis revealed a highly significant association of the SRSF2 P95H mutation with the leukemic and pre-leukemic sub-clones (Supplementary Fig. 6b, c ).
Our data showed a trend that csf1 -knockout females have less preference for red males compared to the wild-type females (Fig. 4e ).
The turnaround from an increasing to a decreasing trend in malaria incidence at the turn of the new century provides an opportunity to further address the importance of climate forcing based on epidemiological patterns.

Interestingly, the proton signal from the t- Bu group showed a clear trend of upfield shift with the increase of concentration (Fig. 4b , Supplementary Fig. 45 ), based on which the dimeric association constant of HUM1 in CDCl 3 was determined to be around 5.5 M −1 (Supplementary Fig. 46 ).
We caution that these findings, while nominally significant, neglect plausible ancestry-differential COVID-19 infection incidence and/or ascertainment in our NYC cohort (which may strongly confound HLA frequency comparison), as well as intrinsic imprecision of diplotype inference from RNA data, linkage among class I HLA genes (and other major histocompatibility complex loci), and/or other sequence variation distinctive to specific subtypes of surveyed haplogroups.

This study revealed a strong trend of decreasing osmotic stability as cells progressed in vitro from majority basophilic and polychromatic normoblasts at day 9 (Lysis 50 73.8 ± 3.6) to a majority polychromatic and orthochromatic normoblast population at day 11 (Lysis 50 102.7 ± 15.6), and then further decreased as cells progressed through final orthochromatic normoblast maturation occurring between day 14 (Lysis 50 102.2 ± 2.0) day 17 (Lysis 50 126.2 ± 11.2), and day 20 (Lysis 50 143.4 ± 15.1) (Fig. 2d ).
We find that wildfires across China mostly occur in the winter season from January to April and those fire occurrences generally show a decreasing trend after reaching a peak in 2007.
All regions except the Tibetan Plateau showed a decreasing trend, largely due to combined effects of climate change and of increasing water withdrawals and damming that transformed free-flowing rivers to reservoirs 19 .
