Treatment with SB203580 had no effect on the MAP kinase phosphorylation (data not shown), but significantly reduced the gene expression of Il6, Cxcl1, Cxcl2 and Areg and showed a trend in case of Il1b ( Fig. 6 ).
Excerpts
Results show highly significant seed enrichment compared to the randomly permuted miRNA-target dataset.
Oddly, for both sets of measurements, the difference between wasted and control mice becomes at best weakly significant at 21 days but returns to being highly significant by 22 days.
Moreover, other early, innate cytokines also showed a trend towards increased secretion following treatment with VSL#3-CM, including IL-1β and IL-6, with baseline levels of these cytokines greater than age-matched AKRs.
a negative trendgold
As regards TGFβ1 serum levels, a negative trend was observed at stages II and III adenocarcinomas, with a significant difference only at stage III ( Figure 3A ).
the most commonly used inflammatory marker, showed a trend quite similar to that of IL-8, with normal serum levels in patients with benign colorectal tumors, and an increase starting from stage II of malignancy, but just below statistical significance ( Figure 2 ).
A decreasing trend of the mean values of (log)apolipoprotein ratio with increasing ethanol intake categories (adjusted for age and BMI) was more pronounced in women than in men (p-value for interaction = 0.04) ( Figure 2 ).
Here, costs are low and revenues are high; for the sampled vessels the fuel consumption is low (9 times less when compared with the trawler) and mainly justified by the journey to and from the fishing area, as fuel used during the hauling of creels is almost insignificant.
0.66–1.16 in Southern European regions), while in men they showed an increasing trend going from North to South (RII Model 4 HR = 0.74, 95% C.I. 0.66–0.84 in Northern, RII Model 4 HR = 0.68, 95% C.I. 0.59–0.78 in Central, and RII Model 4 HR = 0.66, 95% C.I. 0.52–0.82 in Southern European regions) ( Figure 2 ).
0.80–1.07) The association with cardiovascular mortality was highly significant in both men (RII Model4 HR = 0.65, 95% C.I. 0.56–0.76) and women (RII Model4 HR = 0.62, 95% C.I. 0.49–0.78), of comparable magnitude and only partially attenuated by smoking, BMI, and alcohol and fruit and vegetable consumption ( Table 4 ).
Our experimental data show that, in a placebo-controlled setting, nucleoplasty can be used to reduce the initial volume of nucleus pulposus by a statistically highly significant degree.
However, using a cut-point of ASCUS, differences in accuracy were of borderline significance. status released display-pdf yes is-olf no is-manuscript no is-preprint no is-journal-matter no is-scanned no is-retracted no Received 2012 Mar 30; Accepted 2012 May 15; Collection date 2012.
Additionally, −482 genotype showed a trend indicating an association with cholesterolemia under RTV-boosted PI, but with no statistical significance after Bonferroni correction (p = 0.0220).
The null hypothesis of HWE is rejected at 4 of 5 loci (HLA-A with p = 3.6E-08, HLA-B with p = 1.4E-10, HLA-DRB1 with p = 2.7E-10 and HLA-DQB1 with p = 0.023, the p-values for HLA-A, -B and -DRB1 remaining highly significant after correction for multiple tests on the 5 loci).
Relative food intake and relative body weight of both groups dropped immediately after CPT-11 treatment, but showed a trend towards recovery by day 7 [16] .
This result is statistically highly significant.
Conclusions The differences in fluctuating helical asymmetry between ‘African’ and ‘European’ slopes were either non-existent or only marginally significant (shell asymmetry of E. p. jebusitica was marginally greater on the north-facing slope), hence we cannot reject the null hypothesis for no differences between the slopes.
This difference was apparent in adenomas, but not the surrounding normal tissue.
A 2-fold change expression cut-off for the ratio experiments was applied together with a p-Value<0.01 rendering the microarray analysis highly significant and reproducible.
The consumption of fresh fruit juices and black tea was borderline significant with NPC risk (P for trend = 0.05).
a strong trendgold
A strong trend toward increased serum levels of the Th2/Th17 cytokine IL-6 was also observed in both T-het/I and T/I mice, albeit with wide variability in degree of elevation between individuals ( Table 3 ).
A borderline significant risk factor and a protective factor were found, i.e. living as child on a ruminant farm and no use of extended lactation, respectively.
We found that the variant GG genotype of rs2276466 was significantly associated with a decreased risk of SCCHN (OR = 0.69, 95% CI 0.50–0.96), and that the variant TT genotype of rs3136038 showed a borderline significant decreased risk with SCCHN (OR = 0.76, 95% CI: 0.58–1.01) in the recessive model.
a clear trendgold
Although a clear trend is apparent for the association between the V98L variant of AnxA2 and lower circulating PCSK9 levels, more patients need to be screened for AnxA2 mutations before definitive conclusions can be reached on the protective properties of these possible GOF mutations and their relationship to statin response.
Stratifying models on high/low offspring BW, paternal BW tended to be strongest as a predictor of offspring BW among heavier babies, with the relationship only approaching significance in the higher offspring BW stratum for male offspring ( Table 6 ).
