35 Identification of Differentially Methylated Regions Differentially methylated regions (DMRs) were defined as more than 1 consecutive DNA methylation site spaced less than 1500 base pairs apart, with a nominally significant ( P < .05) main effect of genotype, and each with the same direction of effect.

Clinical Characteristics of Patients with Upper-Limb Melanoma ( Table 4 ) As illustrated in Table 4 , when comparing nine melanoma patients with upper-limb tumors with the remaining 124 melanoma patients, the only nominally significant findings were a higher frequency of the CT heterozygous genotype (OR = 5.01, p = 0.050) and a lower frequency of the CC homozygous genotype (OR = 0.11, p = 0.040).
Of the 1,291 adult BMI variants compared, 395 variants (31%) were nominally significant ( p < 0.05) and 949 (74%) displayed directionally consistent associations with childhood BMI, which was far greater than would be expected by chance ( p < 0.001) ( Table S6 ).
