However, there was a highly significant reduction in the proportion of EBs coupled with a concurrent increase in the proportion of intermediate bodies (IBs)–RBs in the process of retransformation to EBs–characterized by their size and compact nucleoids ( Fig. 3b,c ).
Excerpts
An interesting trend of mean PO 2 and SO 2 increase with increasing venular diameter was observed ( Fig. 3 ), regardless of the exclusion of the pial venules ( Supplementary Fig. 4 ).
To identify the PAR, we focused on SNPs heterozygous in both males and females in a pool of unmapped markers that were not linked to any of the 33 autosomal linkage groups 33 . Seven of these previously unlinked markers from three small scaffolds (N00298, three markers in 436.0 kb; N00378, three markers in 182.2 kb; N02597, one marker in 2.3 kb) showed highly significant two-point linkage in both male and female meioses to several markers located close to one end of the Z chromosome linkage map and to each other ( Supplementary Table 1 ; Supplementary Fig. 1 ).
This highly significant effect was consistently demonstrated across all the cohorts studied and was independent of potentially confounding factors including gender, age at time of biopsy, BMI, T2DM and PNPLA3 rs738409 genotype.
a clear trendgold
Although not statistically significant, a clear trend towards low IL-2 production was also observed ( Fig. 6c ).
Considering expression as a continuous variable, a highly significant inverse association was found between the expression of Fbw7 and several NF-κB2 target genes, such as Bcl2 and Bcl2L1 ( Supplementary Table S4 ).
When we applied the TDT-HET method to the markers in the candidate region for the same pedigrees, our multi-locus P -value became highly significant.
Nevertheless, we cannot exclude that insulin resistance could affect those organs at a later time since phosphorylation of IRβ is also significantly affected in skeletal muscle and there is an important trend towards reduced insulin-induced phosphorylation of IRβ in adipose tissue.
Although rs700635 is included on the list of potentially causative variants, it is not extremely well correlated with the index SNP rs13014235 ( r 2 =0.48) and rs13014235 retains a nominally significant BCC association signal when adjusted for the effect of rs700635 ( P adj =0.022, Supplementary Data 1 ).
The polymeric carbon structures reveal an expected trend when comparing with the structural chemistry of the heavier congeners of group IV elements in Zintl phases (alkali or alkaline-earth silicides, germanides and stannides) 17 , 33 .
The three-dimensional transformations afford new perspectives on the structural defects at GBs and on the development of strategies to manipulate practically significant GB transformations.
2b,c , a decreasing trend of T g with decreasing PMMA volume fraction ( φ PMMA ) for both the SiO 2 –PEG 2k /PMMA PNCs and the PMMA/PEG blends is observed.
This overlap between DISLoDGED pathways and non-pharmacokinetic side effect susceptibility altering genes was highly significant (joint hypergeometric tests, P -value 2.2 × 10 −11 , see Supplementary Note 2 for calculation).
a clear trendgold
Importantly, a clear trend is observed that the normalized integrated EL intensity increases with the increasing flake thickness ( Fig. 5b ), which might be attributed to at least two factors.
Thus, radiocarbon ventilation reconstructions from throughout the mid-depth (∼500–1,500 m) and deep (>1,500 m) Pacific are in apparent conflict, with some indicating very little or no change in radiocarbon ventilation between the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) and the pre-industrial period 3 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 , some indicating transient anomalies of varying magnitude and sense 14 15 16 17 , and with others showing quite significant changes, expressed as a net change between the LGM and the pre-industrial 18 19 20 21 or as a positive anomaly in the deglaciation 22 23 24 25 ( Table 1 ).
Correlation explained by genic and conserved SNPs We also found a highly significant correlation between the variance explained by genic SNPs and variance explained by more conserved SNPs ( Fig. 3b ), and between intergenic SNPs and less conserved SNPs ( Supplementary Fig. 3 ).
We see that the QD uncertainty values show a decreasing trend with higher magnification, and values as low as ≈5 nm are measured.
From the distribution of natural trends, one can directly obtain the significance S of an observed trend as well as the minimum external contribution unrelated to any natural fluctuation (for a given level of confidence).
At all sites, modelled WTD was a highly significant predictor of observed WTD, with 47–65% variation explained ( Fig. 2 ).
It should be noted that the changes in kinetics and force due to HCM and DCM mutations are often very small (in the 10–50% range) but highly significant; thus, small differences between large animals, such as porcine, will be extremely important in the context of HCM and DCM, and it is critically important to use the very same protein as in this work.
The H/L cross peak amplitude shows only an increasing trend.
This resulted in fewer newborn neurons reaching the OB, visualized by a highly significant decrease in the numbers of postmitotic CldU+ newly formed neurons in the granular and periglomerular layers of the mutant OBs ( Fig. 2f ; Supplementary Fig. 5e ).
Two non-synonymous variations in exon3 were also identified as marginally significant ( Supplementary Data 1 ).
1b ) and tumours with high contribution of this signature showed a trend towards poor survival ( Supplementary Fig. 1 ).
Flubendazole and rapamycin (included as a positive control) showed inhibitory effects on DC to T-cell transfer of HIV-1, whereas other autophagy inducers showed a trend but reached no statistical significance ( Supplementary Fig. 6a–c ).
