All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS for Windows 18.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL) and associations with a p-value of <0.05 were considered nominally significant.

miR-451 and miR-497 showed a trend towards being significantly decreased, miR-31 showed a heterogenous expression pattern, and miR-19b, miR-29b and miR-142-3p were expressed at comparable level in clinical samples and bone.

miRNA qRT-PCR data of clinical samples, bone and osteoblasts were analyzed using Mann-Whitney U test with p-value cut-off of 0.05, and p-values between 0.05 and 0.15 were regarded as showing a trend towards significance.

The drop in γδ T lymphocytes may be significant in the increased susceptibility to reproductive tract infection, particularly as both vaccinated and non-vaccinated birds show increased infection levels.

Pairwise comparisons indicated that at a low expression rate of pAkt-IR, the influence of pEGFR-IR does not quite reach significance (and vice versa), whereas at a high expression rate of pAkt-IR, the effect of pEGFR is highly significant (and vice versa) ( Table 5 ).

One or both of these interactions may thus have a quite significant influence on chromophore flexibility and photophysics.

Shape FA was higher than measurement error in all samples (Side × Individual effect were highly significant).

However, patterns of differentiation may vary across geographical locations as the only pairwise comparison of host-associated snail populations within a sampling locality that approached significance was in Navassa, based on mitochondrial DNA sequence data ( Table 5 ).

The higher proline content in the bacterial linkers is therefore not the result of a few sequences with higher proline content, but instead demonstrates an apparent trend.

The overnight fasting blood glucose level was the only parameter which showed a trend to be lower in H-P/C-HF than in L-P/C-HF mice ( Table 2 ).

This could be attributed to the fact that the pKa of daunorubicin is slightly higher than the pKa of mitoxantrone and that relatively minor changes in pKa can translate into fairly significant increases in IDB selectivity.

As shown in Table 4 , SGC risk increased with the number of risk genotypes: compared with subjects carrying 0 risk genotypes, subjects carrying one risk genotype had approximately 1.7 times the risk, those carrying two risk genotypes had approximately 2.0 times the risk, those carrying three risk genotypes had approximately 2.7 times the risk, and those carrying four risk genotypes had approximately 5.6 times the risk, indicating a significant trend effect ( P trend = 0.004).

Results Long-term Trend of Vulture Populations in India The log-linear Poisson regression modelling indicated highly significant population changes in all three vulture species in India over all of the time periods studied ( Table 1 , Figure 1 , Figure 2 ).

For the C1431T polymorphism in PPARγ, while patients with the T allele (48.4%) had trends toward lower rate of hypertriglyceridemia, the borderline significance together with insignificant power did not support the protective effect of the T allele against development of hypertriglyceridemia.

The association between the virological outcomes and the adherence indicator was also strong in children despite the smaller sample size of this group of patients, and it was of borderline significance for antiretroviral resistance, probably due to lack of power.

All significant or marginally significant interaction effects were decomposed with simple main effects comparisons and post hoc analyses with Bonferroni corrections.

Following caprylic triglyceride treatment, spare respiratory capacity remained unchanged in WT mice and showed a trend for increase in SOD1-G93A mice which did not reach statistical significance ( Fig. 5C ).

Numbers of completely purified CTCs enumerated by MagSweeper isolation and CellSearch were compared and found to be reasonably similar, with a mild trend observed toward better CTC capture using the MagSweeper in samples with low CTC numbers ( Figure 1E ).

Repeating these analyses with only genes identified in P2 verses normal prostate tissue produced very similar results with highly significant p-values.

The distribution of number of genes hyper- and hypo-methylated showed a trend to correlate with the clustering pattern ( Figure 1 ).

There was a marginally significant difference for A3 at 12 months, but this difference disappeared at subsequent follow-up ( Figure 1 ).

Our results indicated an increasing trend of forest NPP over the period, which was in agreement with previous studies [6] , [14] , [20] .

They pointed out that these relationships were highly significant, and the patterns of NPP variation with stand age were similar for different forest types [39] .
