Results We were not able to observe a statistically significant TCD effect in the EEG data of the whole patient group, but a subsample of patients with evidence for root damage showed a trend in this direction.

We found medium size but highly significant correlations between the individual pain rating and the EEG parameters as well as between the subjective variables and the EEG patterns.

The slope of mHLA-DR expression (days 3–4/days 1–2) showed a highly significant statistical difference between non-septic and septic patients ( Table 1 ).

There were moderate estimated effects of PM exposure on cardiovascular morbidity: multivariable-adjusted odds for the multiplicity of CVD outcomes increased by 1.32 and 1.15 times per 10 μg/m 3 increase in PM 2.5 and PM 10 respectively in the LCR analyses; the estimated PM 2.5 effects diminished quite a bit following spatial adjustment with indicators distinguishing the nine Census regions, while the spatially adjusted PM 10 effects on MI and STK remained marginally significant ( Figures 3 and 4 ).

These model properties with varying complexities support the overview, the post hoc interpretation, and the offline meta-analysis of weakly significant results [20] .

On the other hand, a 10-fold increase in methylation showed a trend for an increase in infant attention score of 1.89 units, which was attenuated and not significant when controlled for infant growth, as well as infant gender and maternal age.

Furthermore, the retrospective study revealed an increasing trend of these three miRNA levels during GC development ( P for trend<0.05), and this panel could classify serum samples collected up to 5 years ahead of clinical GC diagnosis with 79.3% overall accuracy.

In the H 2 O 2 –treated cultures, activity of the β-galactosidase reporter for the cat promoter showed a trend toward slight and progressive decrease over time, but none of the differences between the treated cultures and the untreated control cultures was statistically significant (P>0.05).

Pharmacological isolation of whole-cell BK channel current revealed that CA3 neurons in β4 knock-out animals showed a highly significant, more than 2.5-fold increase in BK channel current amplitude compared to heterozygote littermates (paxilline-sensitive current in β4 +/− mice: 1.62±0.32 nA; n = 11 cells versus β4 −/− mice 3.51±0.59 nA; n = 12 cells; p = 0.01, Figure 6C,D ).

Irrespective of whether the T form affects flowering, all the assays showed a trend that increased copy number was associated with slower induction of expression, consistent with the observed differences in flowering time.

Of which the AGAG haplotype (higher ficolin-2 level producer) that was observed marginally significant in patients does not reflect actual higher ficolin levels.

These findings may be significant because Clostridium bacteriemia have been evident in many patients with a diagnosis of gastrointestinal or hematologic malignancy [42] .

However, aTreg cell frequencies had highly significant positive correlations with the band numbers of IgG autoantibodies reactive toward HEp2 nuclear and cytoplasmic proteins when calculated within the SLE-unaffected relatives group ( Fig. 3 , Table 2 ), in contrast to SLE patients or unrelated control subjects.

We arbitrarily selected p<5.0×10 −4 as nominally significant since it corresponds to a corrected p-value of 0.05 after correction for 100 independent gene regions and the 508 SNPs analyzed in the study fell into ∼100 independent linkage disequilibrium blocks.

This data is highly significant because it points to existence of differential modes of mechanistic intervention by two closely related small heat shock proteins. αA and αB are highly conserved small heat shock proteins, which share 58% sequence similarity (for review see [14] ).

The GFAPδ/ε sequences are initially more hydrophobic, but where the GFAPα sequences have a slight trend towards a hydrophobic nature in the middle of the tail region, the GFAPδ/ε tails have a more pronounced hydrophobic stretch, and a less hydrophilic C-terminal (which is truncated in the rat sequence).

The vaccine induced significant CD4+ and CD8+ HIV-1 Gag-specific T-cell responses in a subset of participants and marginally significant decreases in the level of viremia during the analytic treatment interruption.

Analyses of collagen content in CT26 carcinomas by hydroxyproline quantification showed a trend towards a higher collagen content in carcinomas grown in integrin β 3 -deficient compared to WT mice ( Figure 3B ).

We saw a small trend towards an increase in the frequency of class-switched B cells in the liver of infected mice, but this did not reach statistical significance.

Pooled data in the present study found that leaves and branches showed an increasing trend but stem and roots exhibited a decreasing trend of tissue NSC concentrations with increasing elevation ( Fig. 3 ).

Total nonstructural carbohydrate pools at individual and community level The biomass at tissue level showed a decreasing trend with increasing elevation, except the fine roots biomass increased with increasing elevation ( Fig. 4 ).

However, considering our limited sample size and the borderline significance of this interaction, which was lost after Bonferroni correction, this potential gene-gene interaction needs further analysis in very large cohorts or GWAS meta-analyses.

The MDTH also displayed a decreasing trend ( Figure 4B ) that was paralleled by the decrease in CRP ( Figure 4C ).

In the same samples, of the 22 phenotypic genes in the analysis geneset, nine did not show coexpression with either Ar or Esr2 , three had coexpression approaching significance with Esr2 and 10 had strong coexpression with Esr2 , Ar or both.

Although during the latter two follow-up periods the variations were only marginally significant depressed older adults had a lower ratio of day hospital to full admissions compared to their depressed peers.
