These data amounted to a statistically highly significant association between prior autoimmune autoAb positivity and subsequent development of anti-IFN-I autoAbs (P = 0.0009766; Fig. 4 E ).
Rs4905014 has an age-dependent effect on stroke Nominally significant association of rs4905014 was observed with HC ( p = 9.78e-04) and stroke ( p = 3.75e-21) in ARIC, and with DBP ( p = 2.55e-02), HbA1c ( p = 1.44e-02), and HF ( p = 2.58e-02) in MESA (Table 3 ).
Across 15 mutation categories (see Additional file 1 ), there was a highly significant trend for users to have fewer mutations (SNVs and indels) than non-users (sign test p < 9.8 × 10 −04 ; Additional file 2 : Tables S5 and S7).
Its best alignment to the predicted site had eight strong matches (Figure 3G ), which is likely to be significant ( P = 0.00098).
The association for rs6445055 remained nominally significant, albeit reduced (p= 9.87×10 −04 , β= −0.121 compared to −0.177 prior to adjustment for CCT).
Lastly, statistical analysis revealed a highly significant (MonteCarlo, P =0.00099) correlation between DEGs of normal ageing versus bcat-1 RNAi, suggesting a global functional relevance of BCAT-1 for the process of physiological ageing.
Across the life span of WT flies, we noted a clear trend of increasing DLM firing rates, which nearly doubled in the oldest flies examined [ Fig. 1 D , E ; Spearman rank correlation coefficient ( r s ) = 0.46, p = 9.9 × 10 −4 , and r s = 0.58, p = 3.6 × 10 −4 , respectively, for 25°C-reared and 29°C-reared flies].
Since highly significant ( P = 0.000996) overactivation of NFKB1 was observed in SOD1 astrocytes, we further investigated NFKB isoforms by qICC.
For schizophrenia, the statistical analysis revealed that 25 out of the top 30 gene pairs shared at least one Biological Process (BP) pathway, and the observed enrichment is highly significant ( P = 9.99 × 10 –4 , computed as ( w + 1)/(1,000 + 1) where no background iterations reached ≥ 25, thus w = 0) compared to random expectations.
Finally, since in this experiment there was no significant effect of body mass, it is questionable whether it is actually necessary to include body mass into the ANCOVA model, and if removed the ABX treatment effect becomes highly significant (F 1,24 = 18.6, P < .001).
