We found that G→T transversions were over-represented in both the maize and sugarcane evolution experiments, and that this over-representation was highly significant when either the MSV-Tas sequence dataset was analysed alone (chi square p < 10 -8 ) or when all the mutation data from both experiments were considered collectively (chi square p = 5.4 × 10 -7 ; Table 1 ).

We recovered the PCDH15 locus as a highly significant sweep region consisting of more than 300 variants spanning 369.5 kb ( p -value < 10 –8 ), indicating a strong signature of selective sweep.
The effect size of the differences observed is very large, and the P -values highly significant ( P < 10 −8 ).
Furthermore, a highly significant association was found between the presence of the T allele and increased risk of lung cancer (p = 0.00000001), and the results are shown in Table 2 and Figure 1 .
While we found no obvious and consistent correlations between GWAS gene significance and FCs (electronic supplementary material, figure S4 a–g ), we identified GRIN2A and KCNB1 with highly significant GWAS associations ( p < 10 −8 ) in all seven diseases, and more strongly upregulated TL (FDR < 0.05, log 2 FC (TL/FL) > 1) in either both INH/EX ( GRIN2A ) or in INH ( KCNB1 ) ( figure 1 f,h ).
Analysis of RNA-seq data in CNTNAP2 CRISPRi versus control differentiated neurons showed highly significant downregulation only for CNTNAP2 (log 2 FC= −2, P -value = 1 × 10 −8 ), attesting to the specificity of the knockdown experiment (Figure 3F ) ( Supplementary Table S12 ).
Welch’s t -tests yielded directionally consistent and highly significant differences (e.g., Depression p ≈ 1.0 × 10 −8 ).
Both the integrated fluorescence intensities, which represent the amount of DNA per nucleoid ( Figures 3B,D and Table 1 , columns 11 and 12), and the measurements of nucleoid lengths ( Table 1 , columns 13 and 14) indicate that the difference in DNA between small and large deeply-constricted cells at the fast growth rate is highly significant ( p < 10 -8 , as determined by a two-tail t -test); at the slow growth rate, the difference remains significant, but just barely ( p = 0.035).
The results show also a highly significant p value for vessel diameter in the DCP in SWS patients compared to controls ( p = 0.00000001) ( Table 2 ).
This enrichment is highly significant ( p = 1 × 10 −8 ), especially when considering that all miRNAs may not necessarily disrupt transcript levels.
Moreover, the correlation between ensemble mean forecasts of SST EEIO and their error is highly significant (r = 0.77, p < 10 − 8 ), i.e. small real multi-annual variations in the state of the IOD are vastly exaggerated by the hindcasts and indicate state-dependence of SEAS5 forecast errors in the EEIO.
All of the heritability and correlation estimates were highly significant ( p < 1 × 10 −8 ).
When combining our results across all seven taxa, we found that the overall pattern–i.e., more highly interconnected hub genes exhibited stronger evolutionary constraint–was highly significant (Fisher’s combined probability test, P < 1E-08 for both dN and ω [using CombinePValue; https://CRAN.R-project.org/package=CombinePValue ]; S2 Appendix ).
Indeed, Pearson correlation between E2F1 and CCND1 is close to 0 and not statistically significant ( P = 0.4) while the MI is highly significant ( P = 10 − 8 ).
Indeed, we found a highly significant association between high histone signals in FFPE-CUTAC samples and rapid patient recurrence ( p <10 −8 , Fig. 4B left, fig.
When we assessed the relationship between these two major allele classes and the above-described symptomatic and asymptomatic disease outcomes, we found a highly significant ( P < 1e −08 ; analysis of variance [ANOVA], F 2,43 = 30.06) relationship between allele class and disease outcome such that those CC-RIX mice homozygous for the classic inbred allele showed an enhanced propensity for symptomatic disease outcomes.
We listed highly significant genetic effects of loci (−Log 10 P >8.0 and >1.0%, >0.5%) and consistent loci with environment interaction which were stable in a particular ecological area across at least two years for lint yield and three yield traits ( Figure 1 , Table 2 – 5 ).
In contrast, HGP treatment induced a highly significant increase in WISP2 expression ( P < 10 −8 ) [ 40 ], but reduced IMF deposition [ 17 ], the opposite of what would be predicted based on the analysis of expression of WISP2 and the IMF 5 gene set genes in WxH and PxH genotype animals.
Because of this bias, PBIF modeling found a larger decrease in V T in cannabis smokers (−27% in the prefrontal cortex compared with −19% using full input), and the group×region interaction was statistically highly significant (F = 17.1, p = 0.00000001) ( Fig. 2B ).
XPO4 and IP6K1 have highly significant differences in effect ( p = 1 × 10 −8 , 3.2 × 10 −5 ), both reflecting large effects in Thomsen et al. and smaller or zero effects in other studies.
Furthermore, we found a highly significant correlation (Spearman’s r = 0.76; p < 0.00000001) between uC5b-9/uCre and tissue glomerular C3 fragment deposition, measured by anti-C3 fragment immunostaining ( Figure S13 B), suggesting that uC5b-9/uCre is a urine biomarker of kidney tissue complement activation.
