In a study of therapeutic effects of ipilimumab (monoclonal antibody targeting CTLA-4), an increased secretion of IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-7, IL-8, IL-10, IL-13, IL-17, Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF), Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), HGF, IFNγ, Monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1, CCL2) and VEGF from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) showed a trend towards better recurrence free survival in melanoma [ 69 ].

Among several transcription factors maintaining the Warburg effect (mainly driven by MYC and HIF-1α with loss of regulatory p53 function) [ 10 ] those responding to low oxygen levels are highly significant, since low oxygen conditions (5% O 2 as opposed 18–20% ambient O 2 ) improve blastocyst stage embryo culture in a number of species [ 11 ].
For the C-terminal region, they noted an interesting trend in the helix structures; Ile31–Met35 adopted more abundant α-helix in the structures of the E22Δ mutant Aβ 40 in comparison to the same region in its WT form, while the opposite trend was detected for the same residues of the E22Δ mutant and WT Aβ 42 peptides ( Figure 8 ).
Despite overall negative findings, this study unravelled nominally significant association between multifocal FMD and myosin light chain kinase ( MYLK ; previously involved in thoracic aortic aneurysms), dynein cytoplasmic heavy chain 1 gene ( DYNC2H1 ), obscurin ( OBSCN ; a sarcomeric protein) and RNF213 , previously associated with Moyamoya disease ( p = 0.01) [ 43 ].

When comparing to the abundance of DEGs between two different anther development stages, the number of downregulated genes was significantly increased during anther maturation, and on the contrary, the number of upregulated genes had a decreasing trend ( Figure 4 ), implying that the genes’ expression and the activity of anther in the initial development stage are more vigorous than the later stages.
As regards the prognostic significance of the JAK2 haplotype GGCC_46/1 in AML cases, it was demonstrated that cases with a normal karyotype bearing the haplotype GGCC_46/1 showed a trend towards myelomonocytic proliferation and shorter disease-free survival and overall survival compared to GGCC_46/1 non carriers; on the other hand, the haplotype GGCC_46/1 had no impact on prognosis in the subgroup of AML with an abnormal karyotype [ 13 , 25 ].
