Post hoc comparisons revealed significantly lower adaptation in Group C than in Group H in the third bin ( p = 0.003) and fourth bin ( p = 0.030), with a marginal trend observed for the fifth bin ( p = 0.068).

Effects for pCO2, HCO3−, and SBP were borderline significant ( p = 0.068, p = 0.056, and 0.060, respectively).

To confirm H2A.Z depletion from chromatin, we conducted ChIP in area CA1 from H2A.Z cKO and control female mice and showed an approximately 25% reduction in H2A.Z binding at Fos (t 10 = 3.23, p = 0.009), Arc (t 10 = 2.53, p = 0.03), Gadd45b (t 10 = 2.29, p = 0.05), and Fkbp5 (t 9 = 2.47, p = 0.04) genes, with reduced H2A.Z binding at Th approaching significance (t 10 = 2.05, p = 0.068) (Fig. 2 d).

Also direct comparisons of the SWRs occurrence rates in all SWS bins between the two groups showed significant difference for the post-encoding period (t 12 = 2.41, p = 0.032), a difference approaching significance for the post-test period (t 12 = 2.0, p = 0.068) and no difference for all remaining bins (p > 0.2).

Ischemia was associated with a significant increase in the number of GFAP positive astrocytes but an apparent trend to reduced area fraction of labelling (P = 0.068), consistent with a change in the morphology of astrocytes.

Fish types did not differ significantly in aggression or freeze behaviour, but triploid brown trout spent a smaller proportion of time swimming passively away from the mirror than rainbow trout (t = 2.48, df = 66, p < 0.05) and almost significantly more than the diploid brown trout (t = 2.26, df = 66, p = 0.068) (Fig. 4 B–D).

Compared to the advanced stage, the difference in CMT in the atrophic stage was significant ( p < 0.001); nevertheless, the difference was apparent in the severe stage ( p = 0.068).

Change from 2020 to 2021 There was a marginally significant increase in average number of daily virtual interaction partners between 2020 and 2021 (Table S2 ), t (418.63) = 1.83, p = 0.069, and a significant increase in number of weekly virtual interaction partners from 2020 to 2021, t (397.51) = 2.32, p = 0.021.
